As per toolman59's suggestion I have done a full shutdown and restart. Starting it from Control Panel now works too. The ones pinned to Start/taskbar still launch invisibly. One unusual event at startup, the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel opened and asked me to choose between Basic/Advanced/Wizard mode. It's never done that on previous restarts.

Still no icon on the taskbar while it's running, I guess it's one of those apps that doesn't want one.

I'm glad to hear it's working properly for your two now.

Yeah, the wizard doesn't have an icon on the taskbar by default. It would be nice if it did.

Do bear in mind that a Password reset disk does no more for you than writing the password down does. In either case you will end up with something you need to keep securely [a file or a piece of paper].

This is what my User Accounts page looks like. The Password Reset Link isn't there.

    Hello Nisko,

The link to create a password reset disk will not be available for a Microsoft account. It'll only be available for local accounts instead.

    Did you read this note?
    NOTE
A password reset disk can only be created for local accounts, and not for Microsoft accounts.
Ok well that is good then because I have had to login and use the Microsoft account - don't ask me why because I chose my usual password when installing and I have only just found out you could do this on the Windows systems

    Hello John,

Luckily, it's not hard to reset the password of a Microsoft account if needed. It would be best to keep your passwords written down and kept in a safe and secure location as a backup though.

Ok Shawn short and sweet mate because I have the post drop out problem back I honestly didnít know we had this tutorial and have been told about it so no problems.

I use Google Keep and although they say they encrypt stuff in there I use my own form of encryption in symbols for alphas and numerals.

Now it is te drop out stuff that has crept back and as this is a dual boot I might switch to the dedicated 10 drive even though I had that massive update last night.

Edge is doing my head in and emails well outlook keeps asking id ai want to stay on that page so slowly going south I reckon
