It seems you may need to clean install with LTSB to downgrade.
I suspected as much. Thanks.
As I have Win 10 Pro x64 build 1809 already on another partition, I'll stick with the current edition.
yippee
I had a laptop returned to me that was win8.1 many years ago, someone installed windows enterprise edition,
but of course windows has not been activated
When then finally returned it, I had the problem of how to activate windows
I knew I needed to downgrade to Win 10 Pro
steps
1) Upgraded old laptop to the latest version 2004 OS Build 19041.421
2) Checked to see if there was OEM windows marker present on the machine via showkey . There was
3) Used showkey plus from my home already- activated windows 10 pro laptop
4) used the installed key on my home laptop, on the old laptop ( in change product key)
5) Its activated and changed to Windows 10 Pro :)

These keys are created for insider programs, or are supported in the way that converts insider information to a final edit.
ok great so I'm not going to get a knock on the door then
"hey mister you have 2 laptops with identical keys , you need to come with us"
Hi all, just been reading through here and trying what others have done.
I have reinstalled Windows 10 Ent edition on my new PC and my old license key doesn't work - no longer valid. I want to move back to Pro but none of the generic keys are working.
The error code I get is always 0xc004f050.
I'd rather not have to reinstall everything again.
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks.
