The evaluation version is not able to be downgraded, unless Microsoft has changed it's long running policy - The evaluation runs for 90 days then times out - the only specified method to downgrade from an enterprise evaluation is by full reinstall to an empty partition

You may want to follow the route here, From Earlier in this thread if you have already purchased a new Pro Licence and want to retain data and applications

My Win10 enterprise edition deactivated a few days ago and wasn't able to be reactivated.

I downgraded to Win10 Pro with the generic key from step 1 and it activated automatically using the embedded 8.1Pro key in my BIOS.

This fix was so simple. Thanks a lot.

    Downgrade with generic key VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T

I am surprised to read, that this key still works for you. When I bought a new (OEM) license recently I had to use first a generic key. So I used VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T, but this key was rejected. The dealer, were I had bought the license said that the mentioned generic key had been obsoleted and that I should use following generic key: TWQF8-NT9Q2-6YYVB-KP9PP-V8RC6. And indeed this key was accepted.
The same happened when today I wanted to downgrade from Win 10 Enterprise to Win 10 Pro. The first key above was not accepted but the second key (TWQF8.....) was accepted upon which the downgrade to WIN 10 Pro immediately took place. (I had already an electronic Licence for Win 10 Pro)

I hope this info may be useful in case someone has similar problems with the generic key. Thanks anyway for the very useful tip on how to easily downgrade from Win 10 enterprise to Win 10 pro.

Tried using the key in Post #1 also the above post and a spare key I had that I thought I had never used, and it failed saying use another key. I don't have any other keys that haven't already been used.
    Win 10 Enterprise LTSB x64 build 1607. 14393.2972.

    Hello Peter,

Just to note, the generic key provided in the tutorial will only allow your to downgrade to Pro, it will not activate Windows 10.

Just to verify, what exactly does it show as your Windows 10 Enterprise edition? Does it include anything for it to be a single language or N type edition?

Have you already tried all the RTM generic keys below for Windows 10 Pro etc.. editions?

Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB x64. I tried all the keys.
This is the error if I simply use the generic one for Pro:

It's no big deal really - I just use this one for testing purposes anyway.
