    Hey, Brink -

I never knew about this function or this report until today, but was poking around the Battery-related tutorials and found this one.
Accordingly, I went to the Power Efficiency Diagnostics folder (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Power Efficiency Diagnostics) and discovered that I have 22 of these reports (file name format "energy-report-[date].xml"). They go from 2/18/2023 to 3/12/2023.

Since I didn't ever run any of these reports before, I think you're correct that they are part of automatic maintenance. Out of curiosity, I intend to check in a few days to see if the folder still contains 22 files but the dates are newer since I have no idea why the 2/18 date would be the start date otherwise.

In the meantime, can you explain how I can view one of those older reports? They are all in .xml format,. The folder contains an Edge html item called "energy-report.html" but I can only get it to open the most recent report (the one from yesterday). If I try to open an older report using Edge, it shows no formatting information; I can see the data is there but sheesh ...

By contrast, I've been able to see the reports that show the "powercfg -energy" reports I ran today with no problem.
    Hello Laurie,

You could test opening the older XML files in Chrome to see if they show any better, but I wouldn't count on it.

I tried opening an old report in both Firefox and Chrome - same result. Data is shown but no style information is there so the display is the raw data as shown in my snip.

I assume that a developer could open the html version of the report in Edge and use Developer Tools to find the right spot to point it at a different xml file, since right now it's obviously pulling data in from the most recent xml file.
--I tried copying and pasting the html and an old xml into a new folder to see if that version would open the only xml file in the new folder, but no - it still displayed the 3/13 data.
--It's possible that if I cleared cache and tried again there might be something that could be done, but Refresh did nothing.
--I also tried moving the most recent xml files out of the PED folder into a new folder, but the html still opened the 3/13 xml despite it being moved.
--When I googled it, I found nothing helpful.

So I'm done for now. If I do anything more on this and find something that works I'll share it.
