    Hey Rich, :)

    Are the settings grayed out?
Yes, they were. I gave up and did a Clean Install of 15014. Was able to switch to Fast ring after than. Just now started 15025 with UUP off. Going well. Just saved the 15025 install.esd and created a ISO in case I need it for later.

    Thanks Shawn.

Glad you got it sorted Rich, but too bad you had to clean install to do so.

It's an Oracle VM so not any real loss, just time to set things up again. I would have liked to figure out what wasa wrong but got impatient.

    Thanks again Shawn.

    Hello Oldiesmann, :)

What build do you currently have installed?

Since you have just enabled to receive Insider builds, have you already restarted the computer to apply?

Does using Option 2 change the level shown in Settings for you?
I have build 10493 at the moment. I have restarted the computer several times since enabling the option. Option 2 above doesn't change anything - it's just a grayed out dropdown list.

    Oldiesmann,

If you like, you could download a Windows 10 Insider build 15025 ISO file, and upgrade to it from within your current installation. Hopefully, you'll be able to set Insider settings afterwards.

Just a quick update on this situation. I installed build 15025 last week but ran into a problem with it (I got a blank screen after logging in - still need to dig into that a bit more and find out why), so I reverted back to my original setup. I downloaded and installed build 15002 tonight and am able to change the insider settings with that build.

For around 9 months I've been on the RP Ring, but last night decided to switch to the slow Ring. It allows me to select the Slow Ring but Windows won't retain the setting. ie I change to Slow then close Settings, open Settings again and I'm back on the RP Ring.
Seems like somethings been corrupted but I've no idea what.

    Any ideas are welcome.

    Hello Andy,

Have you already tested setting this using a .reg file in the tutorial to see if it may help make it stick?
