decided to try , removing them all but no luck....
it turns out Dropbox and OneDrive Both put themselves back every reboot ,
used Shawn's .reg from those Tutorials to remove them easily but only
Google Drive doesn't force it's way back after a restart....

so it's back to using quick Access or View This PC again....

    KB.
Nice try, though. Something will pop up to stop those 2 from re-populating.

Check this for Dropbox. Maybe it's a bad path for Dropbox. If you follow the path here, maybe you could jostle it to a correct path which would then Unpin and stay Unpinned. This article is "close" to what you are experiencing.

Oh I see now we may have a slight miscommunication.....

Dropbox and OneDrive are both Gone from Quick Access , but the keep coming back to the area between Quick Access and This PC.

If you don't start them with Windows they aren't there I just discovered, but they comeback as soon as you start either..... ( and refresh Explorer )

*** is is now the wrong thread for this discussion as Google Drive does not show after it's removal.

Hi I just found this topic. I went ahead and downloaded the reg file and it did not work. I then noticed that I did not have the path C:\Program Files\Google\Drive, and I managed to fix that by downloading this (Backup and Sync for Individuals). After installation, it prompted me to sign into Google Drive with my credentials. I then pulled up Notepad in an attempt to Copy/Paste my password, then the login box closed. I went ahead and tried to relaunch it, no luck. Then, tried to remove the connection with your REG file, then reinstalled it, I still had the same problem I began with. That is, as soon as I click on the Google Drive folder within Windows Explorer, I get an error message.

I'm pretty sure the problem relies on launching that app again and configuring it to connect with my drive, but it's not launching. Thoughts? I checked Bitdefender, and it was automatically allowed, so no blocks there.

Try the .bat file perhaps and see if it can clean it up for you.....

the .reg file in the 1st post will only work if you let GD install in the default location I believe, though Shawn ( Brink) is happy to make you a custom .reg if you ask nicely :)

Hi Shawn , I used the Remove from Nav. Pane .reg file you made for me in May last week and it worked perfectly , but I am wondering if it also has somehow stopped B&Sync from autostarting with Windows too? would you mind checking the Remove. reg file in the post linked above for me please?

Unless you have another explanation of course :) as the Preferences for each drive is set to autostart but I need to open B&Sync from the Start Menu currently to force the start.

thanks as always , and Merry Xmas.

Hello KB, and Merry Christmas to you as well.

The remove .reg file below would only remove what the add .reg file added to the registry.

    It shouldn't affect the B&Sync.

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\{3935ea0f-5756-4db1-8078-d2baf2f7b7b2}]

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel]
    "{3935ea0f-5756-4db1-8078-d2baf2f7b7b2}"=-

Thanks for the reply Shawn , I messed around with .bat file from the 1st post and it was able to reset 1 of the G.Drives and it showed in the pane but still did not autostart. The .bat refused to recognize the other two folders as Google Drive folders at all so in the end I re-used your .reg file and simply copied the B&Sync Shortcut from the Start Menu into the Start Menu>Startup Folder and all 3 Drives now load after Boot and sync again.

    * As mentioned on the Dropbox and OneDrive thread the Permissions Deny seems to have stopped them from re-populating the Nav. pane too, they did not have the autostart issue though.
