Thanks for creating this. It's fantastic. I've been using it for my users and they love it, but Google has changed things up quite a bit recently.

What are the steps to use it with Drive File Streams (available to GSuites accounts)? The sync app is different from the original Gdrive sync and the new Backup and Sync qpp ( For FIle Streams, it's GoogleDriveFS.exe) and the path is simply G:\

    Thanks much.

Hello hdougherty, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

You should be able to use this for "Backup and Sync" as well.

It's not compatible with File Streams though.

I'm not sure there can be two separate ones other than using the app, but I'll look into it.
Thanks for posting about this. I was able to modify mine to work. I also have a question about the Backup & Sync and multiple accounts.

I have added two other Google Drive accounts so that all three sync to different directories on my PC, such as:

    Google Drive
    Google Drive - 2
    Google Drive - 3

I can modify the registry file so that it points to each of the different local directories and names it appropriately in the Sidebar. The issue I see is that as soon as execute the registry file again, it overwrites the previous one so that I can only see one Google Drive in the sidebar at a time. I assume it has to do with the CLSID and that each account needs it's own? Am I on the right track here?

    Thanks,
    Merg

Hello Merg, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

You could export the registry keys as a .reg file once you have it set the way you want, merged them to one .reg file, and use that .reg file instead.

The .reg file in the tutorial is applied to the HKCU key for the current account. If you want to apply it to all users, you could use the HKLM key instead.

Sorry, I don't think I was too clear there. When I say that I am syncing three accounts, I meant that I am syncing to three different Google Drive accounts from within one Windows account. I basically have a Google Drive account for personal stuff, have one that I use for work, and a third I use for a non-profit. Backup & Sync now lets me sync all three of those accounts down to my one Windows account in different directories, which is great since I don't need to keep logging in and out of different accounts in my browser to access documents I need.

What I'm try to see is if I can then get all three Google Drives listed in the Sidebar. Altering the current registry file with it pointing to another directory and giving it a new name, just changes the one Google Drive listing in the Sidebar.

    Thanks,
    Merg

Edit: I added a screen shot of my Windows Explorer Sidebar. You can see that I have the three Google Drives in Quick Access, but only the one in the actual Sidebar that can be expanded/opened.

I'm not sure on how to do that other than through Backup & Sync.

Yeah, Backup & Sync only lets you do the Quick Access aspect for all of them. I figure that each instance of the drive has it's own CLSID, but I have no idea how to figure it out.

Just so that the answer is here, I was able to find the answer...

You do need to change the GUID for each instance of Google Drive that you want in the sidebar. I just upped the one in the registry sample you posted by one for each of the other instance. I also made sure to change the Target Location to the correct location for each instance and the changed the name of each. I also upped the Sort Order DWORD value by one for each of the other instance.

After doing that, I had three different Google Drives in my Sidebar.

    Hello Shawn Brink,
I have taken your registry edits and put them in a batch file that:
    1. Gives you a menu to add or delete the Google Drive from/to the Navigation Pane.
    2. Handles 32 or 64 bit systems.
    3. Uses the standard ICON from a the Google Context Menu DLL.
    4. Finds the path in the Google Sync Configuration if the default path is not found.
    5. Restarts the explorer.

Please feel free to post this solution.

I was only able to test on Windows 10, 32 and 64 bit systems.
Text parsing the Google Sync Configuration .db database may not be perfect as I only tested with one .db file.
