Thanks for your help but still no luck I set everything the same way and network folder is still empty. As soon as I run HomeGroup Provider service everything works.

You did the settings in both systems? And you're not using Homegroups I assume :). Very curious. Have you tried running the network troubleshooter with the services disabled?

Yeah, both systems (windows 8.1 PC and windows 10 notebook) are set the same way. I will try with network troubleshooter.

    EDIT:
It didn't help. I wonder if there is someone with the same problem.

Here' one for you! {B4FB3F98-C1EA-428d-A78A-D1F5659CBA93} registry key not found in the 10565 Insider build! When going to remove the additional folders in the view pane as well as starting with the Navigation pane first I ran right into not finding that particular key.

Since a VM is already cramped on space I was trying to get things condensed as seen previously.

    Hey mate, :)

Yep, it's not at that location by default. The .reg files add it, and makes the change to add/remove Homegroup from the navigation pane.

I suspected as much but needed to run it by you first! Looks like I'll spending some time creating new entries in the 10565 registry for sure!

UPDATE: Got in there to add that one new one and went with the reg downloads on a few other guides to end up with some interesting results. I did however have to stop the Home Group provider service once the new reg key was added to see the Home Group item gone from the navigation pane. With a couple of restarts that was the triumph however at seeing the volume reduced.

I found the same results. After doing just the registry changes, the Homegroup was still in the navigation pane.
But after I stopped the Homegroup services, the pane element disappeared. I didn't even have to restart after disabling the services.

    Hey Jim, :)

Yeah, the .reg file is not applied until after restarting the computer, but this is for those that want to remove Homegroup from the navigation pane without disabling Homegroup.

Disabling is certainly another option though.
