Yeah.. I can see what's the problem.. You are at the main (first) security pop-up!
Just go ahead and click on the advance tab (that button on the bottom right).
You'll get new pop-up where You can change the owner at the top!
I guess that You are at the personal account, so You are already in Local Administrators group! Just takeownership and click to propagate new owner on the key and subkeys!
It works fine!
There is another approach you can use for fast changing of ownership!
Check for the freeware NSUDO.. You can even be NT SERVICE\Trustedinstaller and NT Authorithy\System but please be very careful!
I hope that Brink do not mind my interfiering!
And You off course!
Cheers!
Have changed all as suggested above but trusted installed has locked out any changes. Trusted Installer has full control and will not release it. You can change the owner on advance but trusted installer will not let you edit You can change the admin to full control but trusted installer will not allow changes. You can not even delete trusted installer after you take owner ship.
Okay thx for posting! I did the same thing today on my computer 20H2 Win10 Professional 64bit!
You have activated Local Administrator using command prompt or aranging users on local computer!
Currently since I am using phone I can see thar Administrator is the owner! In that case You need to add Administrator in the bottom list and give him (yourself) full access right!
In the moment You took this screenshot Users and Administrators (groups) have had full access. Your Local Account is a member of both groups but BuiltIn Administrator is member only of Administrators group!
So in this case You need to use button Add and add Administator in the list and grant it full access. Before You will be prompted to change inherited ownership!
For further chat I am at Your disposal!
Best regards and good luck..
If you look real close what i think you are writing about is already done. It is in the bottom list. Trusted Installer needs to be gotten rid of and it will not allow that.
Or, I guess Your local account is named Administrator! In any case You need to have owner account (whatever name) in the bottom list with full access right!
And BuiltIn Administrator is on in case of emergency, Safe Mode etc. I think that some versions of win 10 restricted Internet connection with this user on!
It's similar to Root account in Linux and IOS world. But for full potential I suggest comp in the enterprise enviroment.. two words Active Directory!
But that part goes ways from this thread!
