Just to verify, did you do both steps 4 and 5 from how do to so in the links in those steps?
Able to complete number 3 and take control of file. Not able to complete 4. Access denied to F02C1. F02C1 controlled by system. Can take control and make full access avail until I get to f02C1. F02C1 is read only and will not change to full control.

Go ahead and post some screenshots showing what you're doing while trying to take ownership of the key to see if anything may stand out.

You will not be able to set permissions until after you have changed the owner to Administrators.

If I change to administrator the key disappears, the machine self destructs, have to run ISO file and do revovery, then reset up windows 10 again.

Be sure to create a restore point before making any changes. This way you could do a quick System Restore using the restore point to undo any change that cause issues.

The key shouldn't disappear by just changing its owner to "Administrators". Something else may be going on.

Please post screenshots showing step by step how you are changing the owner to see if anything may stand out for why it is doing this.

I have to give up for now. Access is denied no matter what U do. Regedit is suppose to be run as adamin but that will not work on this new windows 10. This way of removing Network on this new updated windows 10 will not work. Windows 10 makes this file access denied even if system takes it over. They have this new file completely locked. Trust me I can follow instructions do not have time for many screen shots, went to F02, permissions, advanced, change owner, owner changed, file still locked and access denied. Followed instructions to the letter. Windows 10 in the ungrade has made this key nonchangeable. If I have a chance in the next few days I will make screen shots to prove U can no longer change this key. Need a new way to delete networks.

I just changed the owner and permissions on my system to test to see if anything may have changed, but it is still working as per the steps in the tutorial for me.

There seems to be something that is being done differently on your end. Hopefully, we can figure it out with the screenshots so you can get this changed for what you want.

You are correct. My machine has set itself a little different. I find this windows 10 a little different, in some spots, then the windows 10 on the laptop. This is a upgrade from 7 and the laptop is a straight new windows 10 setup. Went for a walk, had a beer, and then figures out the problem. Just lacking some needed info in your steps to complete the process. Once I changed everything from what windows 7 or 10 setup it worked fine. Yeppers it worked great. Thank you for all the help. Now I have some other issues to work out and maybe someday the laptop and desktop will work as I want them.

    Dear Sir,
Since this is my first response in this particular thread, I want to thank You for all useful things I found here in your enviroment! This is first station I stop by when looking for answers.. especially menaging Registry settings..
THANK YOU for your time and knowledge..
I have a question considering removing Icons from Explorer Nav Pane..
Libraries, Quick actions, etc.. but what comes to my mind is: why these dword-s are used? 0xb0040064 for Network icon attribut.. What is so special in terms of changing single letter from 0 to 9.. I can not find nothing about this and similar..
I hope that this question is appropriate for this thread.. if not, forgive me!
If I'm not asking too much You can point me on other resources where I can find answer about this topic!
    Thank You very much!
    Cheers!

Hello Tino, and welcome to Ten Forums.

It's just the registry value found that was needed to be change to add or remove the item from the navigation pane. It varies per item though.

You can find tutorials on how to remove other items in the "Related Tutorials" section at the bottom of the tutorial.
