    Hello OldGrantonian, :)

Please go ahead and post some screenshots showing what you see instead along with what you have them set to see if anything may stand out.

I'm sure I replied to your post on the same day as you posted :-(

Anyway, here's the screenshot you requested. Note that there's only one tab: "Security"

    Thanks.

It seems that you may not have changed the owner of the "ShellFolder" key to "Administrators". Double check to see if you did.

    Hi Shawn,

    Thanks for your help.

You were correct (as usual :) ). I hadn't set the owner. I did that, and I've completed Step 8, which is:

    --------------------------------
    8. To Remove Quick access from Navigation PaneA) Type in a0600000, and click/tap on OK. (see screenshot below)
    --------------------------------

IMHO, it looks OK so far. But I have one question: If I right-click on "ShellFolder", and click "Permissions", I still only see one tab ("Security") in the Permissions dialog, but your screenshot shows multiple tabs (General, Icons, etc). I rebooted to see if that produced more tabs - but I still only have one tab.

For info: At Step 8 of the secondary tutorial to change owner, I selected my own account rather than Administrators, in order to replicate your choice of "Shawn Brink". Does that affect the number of tabs?

I don't want to proceed any further until you give me the OK. I don't think the number of tabs is important to me at this stage..

    Thanks.

No worries. Registry keys will only have the one "Security" tab in its properties. The example in the other tutorial was for a file.

I completed the tutorial, and everything works as expected.

    Thanks for all your help.

Hello LordNeko, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

It looks like you may have missed doing steps 4 and/or 5 for this "ShellFolder" key before trying to modify the "Attributes" value.

Ya I see, I enabled full control for "ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES" instead of administrators.
Worked fine now and quick access has vanished; thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated.
