@oneLess, I don't run Home, I run Pro. Not sure what that script does in the post you referenced. Maybe enables the Editor for Home, not sure. The Group Policy Editor looks like this:

The script did not ENABLE the GP editor .
It cannot be enabled because it just not exist in home.
The script INSTALL GP Editor using MS online tools.

If you mean Option Four in the tutorial as the "script", then yes it will not enable the Local Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) in Windows 10 Home edition. It will only set the group policy from Option Three via Registry Editor instead.

Windows 10 has ended up frustrating me again with it's forceful updates; I had the group policy to not include driver updates enabled but it still managed to update my graphics card drivers and caused a bsod right afterward.

Try to include those other setting as well:
    Code:
    schtasks /Change /TN "Microsoft\Windows\Device Setup\Metadata Refresh" /Disable
    reg add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Device Metadata" /v "PreventDeviceMetadataFromNetwork" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f
    reg add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DriverSearching" /v "SearchOrderConfig" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" /f
    reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate" /v "ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f

hi there guys, I read the latest 3 pages of comments but still cannot find the answer to my question, so I'll ask: on latest build I have only 2 options in Settings UI

Enable or Disable Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10-windows-update-1.jpg

and I have not the option I need from the Registry Editor

Enable or Disable Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10-windows-update-2.jpg

does it mean I have to create that registry key? Or maybe is now elsewhere?

    thanks a lot!
