I'm curious about the four registry values. I have two of them only.
Group policy only affects one of them, the second of the above.Code:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
Using process explorer and regfromapp nothing I tried created the first two, and only modified the last one.
I am not getting drivers from Windows update, so what are the first three for?

The registry keys and values in option 4 are for policies that affect driver updates in Windows Update. You wouldn't have most of them by default unless you or something set a policy, but are included just in case.
In addition, you would only get driver updates via Windows Update for devices that support getting them via Windows Update. Unfortunately, not all devices do.

I use gpedit to set my policies for Windows update, which is why the last of those 4 is set.
I guess of I am not getting drivers with just the one registry value set I might be safe. But the reason I asked was because I use WSUS to manage updates. However, in the next few weeks my son is leaving home and he won't have access to WSUS and I was querying this in case I had to set these values because Windows Update might behave differently when not connected to WSUS.
I guess I'll just add them to his PC "just in case"

I have been using only
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate]
"ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate"=dword:00000001
it worked fine in 20H1 + 20H2
It seems to be ignored in 21H1 + Win11 (21H2)
