MS is a joke. Why is there no GUI where you can select YES/NO which driver you want to install. Same with modern standby, still broken and terrible.

Turn On or Off Device Driver Automatic Installation in Windows 10
The above will work great, it stops WU from installing Drivers.
No, you linked an old not working outdated version. The correct one is Option Two of Enable or Disable Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10
Hi All,
As usual..thanks SO much offering help...as far as what gorgor said " The correct one is Option Two of Enable or Disable Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10 ", at first I thought both option's were pretty much the same..but upon reading more closely, it states "This option is more thorough than Option One."
Update:
I have this filter set to 'enabled' !
Enable this policy to not include drivers with Windows quality updates.
If you disable or do not configure this policy, Windows Update will include updates that have a Driver classification.
It's located in Local Computer Policy, Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Windows Update. With that enabled I receive a notice that * Some Settings Are Managed By Your Organization in yellow. I feel as though microsoft has a problem with driver's being downloaded.

Option 2 in this tutorial doesn't work for me - please see this post https://www.tenforums.com/general-su...ml#post1785246
After checking a brand new unaltered installation, I believe some of the keys from option two won't do anything.
By default, these keys are present in the registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Update\ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate]
"value"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings]
"ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate"=dword:00000001
- - - Updated - - -
One thing that confuses me though is no apparent registry key relevant do disabling downloading manufacturers' apps and icons. Supposedly it's DriverSearching key that's present in about three places in registry, but flipping the setting in the UI doesn't change any of these keys.
I can't get this to work option 2. Windows still updates my video card driver no matter what I set. pita...
Hello IcarusLSC, and welcome to Ten Forums.
In that case, you could try option 7 in the tutorial below to disable automatic updates.
Enable or Disable Windows Update Automatic Updates in Windows 10
This will allow you to hide these driver updates without them getting installed.
Hide or Show Windows Updates in Windows 10
I'm not big on installing software like this. Must be a different way? I'm not worried about updates just updated drivers.
