@SaggyMaggyPoo have you considered setting up a local Administrator's account and using that? If you do that only the User Name will show.

I suggested that earlier as well as a possible second Standard account for each laptop that could either left unlocked without a password assigned or locked up while that would tend to force the lock screen appearance. Without a lock an automatic boot into the Standard used daily account would elude the email as well as be the assigned account to boot into. The Local account would appear right under not above the admin account which does see the email address.

When gong to record VMs I would first see the VM set up without an MS account to simply have Night Hawk Insider or some other alias admin account. The option with the laptops would be either the second Standard or second admin created before nuking the first and then adding on a new MS account which would still show the email address but not be the primary login account.

The Privacy option however is still the best move MS made lately while the Settings area could use a few more options there besides the Lock screen but no account pic shows on the Welcome screen and no option to display one found? Of course if the concern is mostly over the lock screen that can be disabled entirely! See the other guide for that option. Lock Screen - Enable or Disable in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

This is actually what I use, but I also have a non-admin Microsoft account on the laptop and this shows on the login screen with its email address. I know that I could set up automatic login but I do prefer to have to remember the password - you never know when you might need to know it!

As I think I said in a previous post, while it will be nice to hide email addresses, at present it's only a minor irritation and I'm happy to wait till the build catches up to me.

But thanks for all the suggestions from everyone.

With the latest Insider builds you can see them locked up and by default only the admin user account name is present on the sign in screen. The new Privacy setting comes enabled by default. That certainly comes in hand now that some videos have been uploaded on how to do things in 10.

    An off topic question :

My question is about Win 10 10586.318. Not Insider Preview.

I have always been using my Microsoft account to sign in.

If I use a local admin account, will I be able to download and install apps from Windows Store ?
Are there any other restrictions using a local admin account ?
    Thank you.

It is not about the built-in Admin account.

I have not enabled it since Win 7 days.
I am asking about MS account and local account, both set as admin.

My " beef " is the same as SaggyMaggyPoo, except that my question is about my Win 10 RTM, 10586.318.
    Issue :
On my sign in page, my email address is visible.
Looking a way to hide the email address from sign in page.

    From what MS says.....

You need a Microsoft account and Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8, or Windows 10 to get apps from the Windows Store
