I don't know. The profile that was initially causing the problem was this one and that was just named Brian when I deleted it. That's now got Laptop added. Sorry - didn't pay attention to path! I didn't delete anything relating to the Helen one, just Brian, but it's affected both accounts.

If the correct path and name is "C:\Users\Brian" instead of "C:\Users\Brian.Laptop", then you can modify the ProfileImagePath value to the correct one like in step 8.

    Hi
thanks for your help so far. Haven't tried this yet, as scared I'll delete the wrong thing! Have done a screen shot which may help. At least I've found my files so wondering whether to just continue as is rather than deleting something I shouldn't. What do you think? Have also done screen shot scan error message which looks as though it's related to the same problem.

From your screenshots, it looks like the ones with ".Laptop" at the end are still a temp profile.

If you edit the registry to only remove ".Laptop" from the folder path then restart the computer, you should be ok again.

Sorry - still not sure! Do I delete or rename the files shown in screen shots below?

    That's ok.

You would use step 8 in the tutorial to modify the ProfileImagePath value to rename C:\Users\Brian.Laptop to C:\Users\Brian without .Laptop being at the end anymore.

    ...then just repeat for Helen.

Sorry I've been so long - been backing stuff up! Do I need to do anything with the SID keys in the left hand pane?

    No problem.

Nope. You don't need to do anything in the left pane. Only to modify the path in the right pane to correct it.
