It sounds like you have it mostly fixed now. :)

It doesn't matter what the number of the SID is since it's the correct and working one for that user.

What is showing the one "Owner" as being corrupted?

Do they have a SID key that you can delete to rebuild their profiles?

Brink (or any other contributor to this thread for that matter), is there anything that you think can be to blame for this happening on a regular basis? That is to say it happening weekly on specific machines?

I'm concerned there's an issue on my network that may be making this happen with alarming regularity but I'm unable to pin point anything specific and I'm loathe to start flattening machines for this reason alone.

    Hello Nate, :)

This is usually from something corrupting the account's profile, or the account's profile folder can't be found. For example, you moved the profile folder to another location that is not available during sign-in for whatever reason.

I hope this may help narrow down what could be causing it.

    Good morning

This tutorial helped me so much, thanks. So I deleted the old user, and windows made me a new one "Dell.Dell.PC" but my old one was just "Dell", so I renamed the ProfileImagePath to "C:/users/dell" and I got everything back, but the microsoft apps like Calculator, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Store are gone, I have stuff like paint tho. Any ideas on how to get those apps back?

If it's only Store apps that are missing and not desktop programs, consider yourself very lucky. Just go to Store (if app is still there, if not use browser to Store page) and reinstall the missing apps (type them in Store search box, result should show that you already own, then download and let install).

Hello Vytka, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

In addition, you can also reinstall your apps from "My Library" in the Store.
