The "desktop.ini" file is just a file that can be used to reference things like an icon or label for the folder or files in the folder.

What Are These desktop.ini Files I Keep Seeing?

    You do not need it.

    Hi Brink,
Since the update of the bios few weeks ago, it signed me into temporary profile in windows 10. As you may remember, I had lost some of the data on the user profile in the process, which I am trying to get it back through using the tool like R-studio, ( I am hoping that the data didn't get override, in that case, I am out of luck right?)

What I have discovered is that, when I am on my User profile, I am able to track some of the files which are recent before this occurred. However, Other stuff are way back, This is where I need to find the most recent stuff.

Also, the NTUSER.DAT, I see on User Profile, Am I able to load one of them or so in the reg,
As you can see, there are several multiple ones, However, recalling the date for modification, it dates back to the time when this started. so is there any use of this, if am unable to retrieve how it was back?Fix You've been signed in with a temporary profile in Windows 10-signal-2021-01-19-123421.jpg

What should I do, clean reinstall after saving these data or just create another profile then transfer whatever files and program remaining?

    Also,

    Hello @mik07,

Usually, if you're unable to fix the temporary profile by manually setting it to use the correct profile folder, it may be too corrupted to use.

In this case, I have no option other than clean re-install of windows?

Unless you have a system image or backup to restore, I'm not sure what else you can do.

I have previously restored while trying to fix the problem, it lead to more problem, half of stuff didn't work properly. I do not want to take chance, whatever I can retrieve from the r studio, and do the clean install.
there is guide on how to do clean install on tenforun right?

Correct. Be sure to back up anything you do not want to lose first.
