What about if this is on the Server? I had to create the user on the serve. I tried logging in, remotely, to another machine and it still comes up temp. The customer states that this started when he started using a new machine.

And also, if I try to have the new profile point to the old profile, when setting it up, would that still cause an issue?

    I'm afraid that I don't know for a server.

It's usually best to use a new profile for a new account instead.

OK. Now if they want all of their old settings, programs, etc., is there a problem doing a cut and paste from the old user folder to the new user folder?

I find it usually doesn't work out very well for a complete copy and paste when the account is corrupted.

You could copy over any files from the personal folders to the new account. The programs will still be installed on the PC, but may need to recreate any missing shortcuts for them.

Thanks. I will try it and see if it works. If not, I'll have to go from there. Cheers.

I too have several of my servers that have started doing this, Server2008, 2012 and 2012R2.

All at roughly the same time, there has to be some common denominator?

I am waiting on the customer to boot the computer I was working on so I can remote in and test the profile. I will update things when/if they work. Been working on this since yesterday...

Well The profile started working again. I had to enlist a coworker, that has been here a lot longer than I, to help out. We deleted the SID from the computer/s that he logged onto. hen had to go on to the server that hosts the profiles and moved the folder, his was labeled rn\jhall.v2, to another folder (labeled OLD) and restarted computer, not server. After logging in on the workstation, it no longer said that it was logged in to a temp profile. Even checked again in REGEDIT and it pointed to the correct paths. It, however, will no load the previous setup. That is not a problem because all the client has to do is set it up again. Only a small inconvenience to do it once again, rather than on every log on. Hope that helps you out too @AchtungNate
