Ok I restarted It and I’m still getting the temporary account message

I’m going to try and create another account and transfer everything over to it and see if it will let me sign into that account. I will post my results shortly.

Ok so I created another account and transferred all my data over to it and so far everything is back to normal. I have restarted it 3 times and haven’t gotten the “cannot sign in to your account” message anymore. I think creating another account was the answer. Thank you so much Brink! You are a lifesaver! Also thank you for Immediately responding to my messages. Couldn’t ask for any better help. God bless!

Since you are still getting the same error even after creating a new account, it may be time to reset Windows 10.

Be sure to back up anything you do not want to lose first.

Hi Brink, I have been really busy with work the passed few days so I took a break troubleshooting my pc. I’m back on it now trying to figure out my problem again. I noticed that even after deleting the temporary profile and removing the “.bak” part from the correct profile in the Registry Editor, there is still a temporary user listed under Users when I check in the my file explorer under ThisPC. I tried deleting it, but it says it can’t be deleted because the file is open in another program. It seems to be OneDrive that is not allowing me to delete the temporary one. Do you know what i could do so it lets me delete the temporary profile?

You could try deleting the temporary profile while in Safe Mode.

Hello beck16, and welcome to Ten Forums.

That's ok. Continue the rest of the steps to see if your profile will load the next time you sign in.

Does everything look to be in order in the C:\users\myname folder?

It did not. I ended up having to reset my computer

edit: everything looked fine in the folder, but I followed your steps twice with no luck. Not sure what I did wrong. I couldn't get back into my computer to see your reply or I might have followed up sooner to avoid having to reset.
