Current registry and Users Folder screen shots

Here is my current registry, after going through the tutorial. Strings continue to be created, and State reverts to values other than "0":

Here is my Users Folder; the original profile folder is still intact, and the one I want is labelled "No". My computer name is MDSDESKTOP:

So, after making the edits and rebooting, I still get the Temp profile error messages. I have not done a re-install of Windows 10 Home. Windows 8 was pre-installed on the machine when I purchased it. Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Redhook66,

Just to verify, are you using step 12 to delete the "...1002" SID key and rename and correct profile folder path for "...1002.bak"?

Yes, I delete the string w/o the .bak extension, then backspace out ".bak" from the string with it, check to make sure State's value is "0", my right-pane Profileimagepath is modified to (my desired profile) C:\Users\No, then I File, Exit out of Regedit. What am I missing here?

    You're not missing anything.

Let's see if this below may be able to rebuild a working profile for your account.

    1) Delete both SID keys "1001" and "1001.bak".

    2) Delete all the temp profile folders in the "C:\Users" folder for your account. Be sure to not delete the "No" folder.

    3) Sign out, and sign in to your account to have a new profile folder created.

    4) If successful, try to do this tutorial again to change the ProfileImagePath value to have the correct "C:\Users\No" profile path for your account.

Let's see if this below may be able to rebuild a working profile for your account.
    1) Delete both SID keys "1001" and "1001.bak".
    >>OK, did this. FYI, my SID keys still have "1002" and "1002.bak" values, and I really have no idea what the difference is. No biggie?

    2) Delete all the temp profile folders in the "C:\Users" folder for your account. Be sure to not delete the "No" folder.
    >>OK, successfully deleted "TEMP" folder under C:\Users, bud could not delete "TEMP.MDSDESKTOP" folder, and got error message (see screenshot). When I logon to the computer, the login screen does show my acct. name "No Name" and I do use my regular login password. After boot up, that's when the "Cannot sign you in to your profile...." message comes up.
    **So, I'm stuck here.**

That's ok for #2. You won't be able to delete the TEMP folder that you are currently using.

I know we're close, and after getting through 1/2 of the 45+ pages of this thread last night, I'd almost put $100 on the table to think that I have to ultimately create a new user, (with or without admin. status? Don't REALLY need to sign in to Microsoft every time I use the PC, no kids, no other users, so....) and transfer my files from C:\Users\No that I copied to a separate physical drive to the new acct. But, I'm the follower here, so let's see if we can keep tweaking this to get the correct paths to line up. I appreciate the time and effort, Shawn.

You're most welcome. It's looking good so far.

Now, we just need to change the ProfileImagePath value to have the correct "C:\Users\No" profile folder path.

We're almost approaching that "Definition of Insanity" thing (doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result). Corrected the Profileimagepath to C:\Users\No, but a new temp user and path pop back up upon reboot. 😥
