thanks for your help so far. Haven't tried this yet, as scared I'll delete the wrong thing! Have done a screen shot which may help. At least I've found my files so wondering whether to just continue as is rather than deleting something I shouldn't. What do you think? Have also done screen shot scan error message which looks as though it's related to the same problem.
From your screenshots, it looks like the ones with ".Laptop" at the end are still a temp profile.
If you edit the registry to only remove ".Laptop" from the folder path then restart the computer, you should be ok again.

You would use step 8 in the tutorial to modify the ProfileImagePath value to rename C:\Users\Brian.Laptop to C:\Users\Brian without .Laptop being at the end anymore.
...then just repeat for Helen.

Nope. You don't need to do anything in the left pane. Only to modify the path in the right pane to correct it. :)
