    Hello Brink,

I have followed your guide to the T and I still cannot figure out why I'm being logged into a temporary profile. Here is my event viewer!Fix You've been signed in with a temporary profile in Windows 10-untitled.jpg

Hello MainFrame, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

Double check to make sure that the ProfileImagePath value for your account's SID key without .bak has the correct full path of your %UserProfile% folder.

I double checked and 1000 was /Temp and 1000.bak was my actual one so I followed the steps and after restarting, the original is back to .bak.

Check to make sure that 1000 has the correct user profile folder path to see how it does after restarting.

It has the same path as my original file and once I restart it, it goes back to Temp profile. Looking at the event viewer it says /username.nt has become corrupt. Am I out of luck at this point?

Pretty much. If you add a new user account, are you able to sign in to it without getting a temp profile error?

If so, then you could make it an administrator, and use it instead.

Hi, I followed all the instructions up to step 9. The path was correct, but there was no "double" SID key without .bak. I kept being logged into a temp account. Is there anything else I can try?
    Thanks

Hello poehee, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

If you don't have a SID key without .bak at the end, then you can rename the SID key to remove .bak. Afterwards, make sure the path to your user profile is correct.

Hello Sean, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

You'll need to navigate to the registry key location in the left pane of Registry Editor by expanding open each key in the path in the tutorial.
