Hi Brink! Great site. Today I've experienced the same problem - when I restarted my computer and loaded into windows and entered my password it signed me into some weird looking temp profile. Fortunately it was an easy fix - I simply signed out and signed back on and it put me in my normal profile. Does that mean the problem is fixed? Do I have to do anything to prevent this from happening again? It was really kind of strange, just happened out of the blue

    Thanks
    Hello ayylmao212, :)

As long as you're back to your normal working profile, you're good to go.

Alright thanks for confirming :) Microsoft should definitely work on fixing this issue as it is kind of widespread right now.

I have discovered that when I upgrade of any Windows 10 build and it signs me into a temporary user profile, I just open a command prompt with run as administrator and type CHKDSK /F and it will require a reboot to run the scan. Once the scan has completed (with or without errors found) and the system reboots it fixes the problem and I can log in with my original MS account profile or local account profile. Works every time. Go figure.

Did just as described, Everything i did was following your guide accordingly. Didnt work so i did a system reset where you keep most of your files just some stuff that goes away. When the reset was done my computer was cleaned out completely, so mad because i lost a shit ton of Pictures from my Europé trip. How did this even happen? Started a a soft reset but it ended up in a full wipe of my data, help a brother out please

Hello Donboss, and welcome to Ten Forums.

If you did a full reset of Windows, then the files are gone unless you have them backed up somewhere.

I didnt, you know you can choose whether you want to delete all files or keep your files. I pressed keep, still nothing left except of League of legends and Skype, have no idea how that worked out :/

If you like, you could just copy the files from that location back to your folders.
