Nothing will be uninstalled. I will try later in Audit Mode, when customizing new deployment image.

AFAIK it can only be disabled via right-click on the taskbar | choose News and interests | check Disable.

    Short answer: nothing.

Background for the short answer: Since Office 365 / Microsoft 365 is nowadays using a Click-to-Run installer, Skype for Business (SfB) is, although a deprecated app replaced with Teams, still included in the install package for O365 / MS365 Pro Plus and Business / Enterprise.

As functionality of parts of Teams, as well as other O365 / MS 365 apps still depends on core code of Lync, predecessor of SfB, that core of it must be installed. Don't worry, though, that core takes less than 0.1 GB storage space. Even if you are using a really small 128 GB (formatted capacity just over 119 GB) HDD or SSD, it means that Lync (SfB) files take less than one 11900th of your storage capacity:

    Uninstall Apps in Windows 10-lync-files.png

If SfB in Start Menu is disturbing you (as it was disturbing me), simply delete its Start Menu shortcut in following folder:

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

SfB is no longer shown in Start Menu.

Hi Shawn, could you advise whether you expect 'removing' a provisioned app as above actually leaves the folder for that program in the Windowsapps folder?

I've uninstalled a couple and these folders remain.
windows 10 - WindowsApps folder still contains large folders from deleted Microsoft Applications - Super User

Would you expect any difference in this for other apps downloaded from the Store e.g. 3rd pary apps?

There are many many comments on the web about very large remnant folders in Windowsapps.. e.g. see this current thread:
How to clean up WindowsApps folder?

Is there any routine cleanup function that might apply, or is this an MS oversight? Thanks

    Hey mate,

It appears uninstalling a Store app will remove it from the Start menu, but doesn't always remove its package or not all of it from the WindowsApps folder.

Usually, you will need to uninstall the app as an administrator to remove its package, but then again, it doesn't always happen.

Option 13 may be the best for this.

Thanks, I thought that at first and tried option 13 without success.

With a little experimentation I found 2 examples (different) that deleted the remaining folder of apps I'd uninstalled:

How to clean up WindowsApps folder?

It's certainly very much less than obvious to me how to choose the appropriate command to achieve this. This saved me some 500Mb - and in some cases it can clearly be much more.

Suggests a need for clear guidance - there are many posts on the internet on this topic.

I haven't found any official references on cleaning up the WindowsApps folder.

The problem is that it doesn't always behave the same when uninstalling an app for it to remove the app's package or not from the WindowsApps folder. It's too inconsistent, and playing around in the WindowsApps folder could break apps.

I suppose you could try booting into safe mode or a command prompt at boot to manually delete an app's package folder(s) in the WindowsApps folder to remove it after the app has already been uninstalled normally.
