Uninstall Apps in Windows 10

It may be of some interest that "on November 15, 2017 Microsoft re-branded Microsoft Wallet to Microsoft Pay and allowed payments to be processed through it on Edge".

On my end the [new] app appears only in Microsoft Store | Downloads and updates and it pops up if you try and make a payment online.




Applying the -online and -allusers switches with *Wallet* as before work fine also for Microsoft Pay and the app disappears from the above mentioned location.

I have tested this and can confirm it works (does not restore apps for the user). If you have taken option 3 in this tutorial (Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage) an upgrade will however reinstate all apps into C:\Program Files\WindowsApps directory so they can then be added again with Add-AppxPackage.

This is helpful as it means you can still re-instate the Store by doing an in-place upgrade and then Add-AppxPackage even if you have deleted it by mistake. Conversely if you ran option 3 to save disk space you still have to do it again after an upgrade.

This would seem no longer true these days, at least on my end and for what concerns the upgrade from 1703 to 1709.

I tested it on two different machines that had been previously "cleaned up" as per Option 3 and NO app among those uninstalled was reinstated into the WindowsApps directory with the only relevant exception of Connect (*PPIProjection*) that is happily back again after the upgrade.

While I am afraid I did not completely understand how the same Option 3 can produce two apparently (hence the confusion) different results as per paragraph one and two, even after all this time I deem the issue of automatic re-installing quite actual and I wander whether there might have been a dramatic change in Microsoft's policy concerning major updates...

Red error message pops up that is too fast for me to copy.

Add PAUSE as a second command, you'll be able to read and copy it then.

You can add the Pause command as the last line in your .bat file that should allow you to see the error message.
