Uninstall Apps in Windows 10  

Hi Shawn,

I followed the instructions in your Tutorial How to Turn On or Off Automatically Installing Suggested Apps in Windows 10 and I am quite pleased having discovered how to avoid automatic downloads in the future. Thank you very much indeed!

I tried again a Clean Installation of Windows 10 and disabled SilentInstalledAppsEnabled, but I got the same result as before in terms of waht concerns the presence of "Pending" app shortcuts in the Start Menu. Actually not exactly the same, as they disappear when I rush to cancel their downolads in Windows Store | Downloads and Updates as soon as connected for the first time to the net.

I wander: is there a way of getting rid of the "Pending" apps based on some knowledge about the target locations of the Start Menu rght pane shortcuts?

Sorry to bother and please let me know if got out of this thread and I should refer to another one or open a brand new one.

It's never a bother. :)

They should eventually no longer be "Pending" where you can then uninstall or unpin them.

I got your point. I go and try to unpin them rightaway after the clean installation and I'll post back.

Hi again Shawn and sorry for pestering,

During the apps uninstall in Windows 10 Creators Update (1703) that I reported in the previous post I performed a couple of experiments and I have a few observations you may be interested in:

1. The "-online" instruction for Microsoft Wallet in the Tutorial is indicated as if it were for Microsoft Wi-Fi and it may be corrected.
2. The "-allusers" instructions for Windows Holographic (Mixed Reality) will inevitably produce a red message: is it the case to keep it in the list or is there any mistakes on my side?
3. The Get Started instructions (both "-online" and "-allusers") produce the uninstall of Tips (CU 1703): it may be useful to indicate it for people who wish to get rid of it.
4. You righteously removed Get Help from the Tutorial and I would point out that Contact Support (CU 1703) which replaced it cannot be removed from the system as you get a red error message applying the "-allusers" instruction.
5. The following instructions worked fine for Minecraft for Windows and maybe someone could find this useful:
Get-appxpackage -allusers *MinecraftUWP* | Remove-AppxPackage
Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like "*MinecraftUWP*"} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
6. Again a red message for XboxGameCallableUI (yes, I tried...) applying the "-allusers" instruction.
7. On the contrary everything worked fine with the following apps that kept appearing in Settings | Apps & features and/or Windows Store | Download and Updates:
Xbox Game Bar
Get-appxpackage -allusers *XboxGameOverlay* | Remove-AppxPackage
Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like "*XboxGameOverlay*"} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
Xbox Identity Provider
Get-appxpackage -allusers *XboxIdentityProvider* | Remove-AppxPackage
Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like "*XboxIdentityProvider*"} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
In this case it may be useful to notice that (upon no rational basis) I applied these scripts together with the scripts for Xbox Game Speech Window BEFORE applyng the scripts for Xbox: I wander whether this order should be considered relevant or not?
