I can't remove Microsoft Solitaire Collection for new users

    Does it look like I mistyped? When I called: Get-appxprovisionedpackage -online | where-object {$_.packagename -like "*solitairecollection*"} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage -online, now it says,
    Code:
    PS C:\WINDOWS\System32> Get-appxprovisionedpackage -online | where-object {$_.packagename -like "*solitairecollection*"} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage -online
    remove-appxprovisionedpackage : Unspecified error
    At line:1 char:100
    + ... like "*solitairecollection*"} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage -online
    + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage], COMException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : Microsoft.Dism.Commands.RemoveAppxProvisionedPackageCommand

    Hello Honeycomb, :)

It looks like you have an extra space in front of the "| remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online" part of the command.

I'm new to this forum so I'm not familiar with protocols of posting and am probably messing things up. Sometimes I end up posting on a thread without knowing how I got there. I think that is the case here. I started posting topic on Page one and here I am on page 27 of a different thread. Are we still in Kansas, Toto? Anyway,

When I tried using all the non powershell options (above my pay grade for that) not having any success. For example, when I try option 3, going to ALL APPS on start menu at bottom, ALL APPS does not appear because start opens with ALL APPS fully expanded. When I click and hold, the app just opens, no menu appearing.

Tried deleting the PHOTOS folder but the thing just keeps reappearing.

The Settings/System/Apps uninstall option didn't work -grayed out.

Yeah, I know I should be able so solve all these petty little annoyances, but I hate it when they keep changing o/s; it takes me years to become reasonably proficient with one, and as soon as I do, they change it. After 11 months, I'm still trying to learn the basics, never mind any advanced stuff.

Remember when we used to buy 1200 page, 5lb. reference books?

Speqking of 1200 page, 5lb. reference books.

I just took a gander at Tutorials . . . not what I expected at all. An extensive topical index, its not general or overview in nature at all but deals with very specific subjects, large and small. Might more aptly be named a "HOW TO MANUAL" than TUTORIAL Never seen anything like it. Probably more useful than a generalized tutorial because you can go straight to the specific question without reading thru lots of superfluous and irrelevant info.

I'll be sure to look here first B4 posting questions.

    Hello Davey Jones, :)

The tutorial index is sorted alphabetically by subject.

What were you trying to uninstall using OPTION EIGHT from the Start menu?

How did using the command below in PowerShell from Option 2 work for you?

    Get-AppxPackage *Photos* | Remove-AppxPackage

I didn't use Power Shell, don't know how -- DOS type commands scare me cuz I make too many typos, troulbe being that precise tho I suppose if I get desperate enough I might stick my toes in that water.

It's pretty simple if you would like to try it.

You would just need to open PowerShell, copy and paste the command I posted above, and press Enter. :)

I tried using it a few weeks ago for something and failed, so I'm a bit gun-shy.
Thanks, Brink, I think I will try again. I just didn't know what "Get-AppxPackage" command means.
