Thanks. Unfortunately, I don't see any difference in the appearance of a newly-opened File Explorer Window regardless what setting I choose re: This PC or Quick Access. They both look exactly the same. Ideally, both would be expanded; I have a large enough monitor to have both expanded at the same time.

All the HDDs listed in the navigation pane of the File Explorer window are set to enable write-caching in Device Manager. However, they are also listed as "Portable Devices" in Device Manager even though they are not. It is quite unhelpful that the drives are given their assigned names under Portable Devices and part numbers under Disk drives. It is some undertaking to match the names I gave the drives to the part numbers of the devices.
As a test, open File Explorer and expand open This PC, and close File Explorer.

It should open the same as last closed.

If you like, you can also check (turn on) "Expand to current folder" in the navigation pane to always have This PC expand when File Explorer is set to open to This PC by default.

Hello bajito, and welcome to Ten Forums.

Just to verify, did you sign out and sign in to apply after merging the .reg file?

If you did, then please go ahead and post a screenshot showing what you're seeing to see if that may reveal anything.

    @bajito93 ,

To have it look like the bottom screenshot, you would need to:

    1) Turn off Show all folders in the navigation pane.

    2) Use step 3 in this tutorial to add drives to navigation pane.

    3) Click on the expansion arrow to the left of This PC in the navigation pane to unexpand it.

Yes, but in the image they look like the decoupled the drives of the section "this pc" (as in the second image).
The idea would be to put all the drives out of the "this pc" section.

When I use the .reg file I cant see any change. Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, this tutorial will only add or remove the separate individual duplicate drives not in the "This PC" group. I'm not sure on how to only hide them in This PC navigation pane and not in This PC main window.

If wanted, you could remove "This PC" from the navigation pane.

Add or Remove This PC in Navigation Pane in Windows 10

You can still have File Explorer set to open to This PC if wanted without This PC showing in the navigation pane.

Yes but I see this tutorial:

Add or Remove Recycle Bin from Navigation Pane in Windows 10

I want to do the same but with my drives, because I want to see the drives in the navigation pane out the "this pc" section. (Sorry for my english).
