Hey Brink,
I know it's been a while, so i hope i'll still be someone around.
I tried applying your .bat file, and checked every step manually in the registry, but without success.
I tried changing the "link" string value to "%s.lnk" from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\NamingTemplates,
but without further success.
I'm on LTSC 1809 BTW.
Is your .bat still supposed to work with that version ?
Thanks
thanks for the quick reply :)
Hmm, unfortunately, i double checked the registry, everything has been modified as in the bat file, but the .exe are still there...
I applied the Sophia script on my comptuter and did many other deep tweaks. That might be the reason. e.g. this tweak doesn't work either.
Were you wanting to remove file name extensions from showing like below instead?
Hide or Show File Name Extensions in Windows 10
Actually i want to show file extensions, but hide the extension name when creating shortcuts.
