The tutorial has been updated so the shortcuts can "Pin to Start" and "Pin to taskbar". :)

Dont know if its me but tried several times on the instant version and keeps opening Documents folder instead of creating a restore point

    Thanks

Best to change to run as administrator in properties

    Hello Red, :)

Did you do steps 8 and 9?

This is where the shortcut points to for running the .vbs file that performs the action to create a restore point.

I think I see where the confusion arises.....step 8-9 mentionses the zip File...then refers to the folder ( in red )

so so I copied the extracted folder........

    was that wrong ?

sorry I have done this before......

maybe a batch file to set it up......just for people like me LOL

You would want to open the downloaded ZIP file, and copy the folder (ex: "Instant Restore Point") from within it to your "Program Files" folder.

Basically, the shortcut is to run the .vbs file in the folder. The shortcut must point to wherever you have the .vbs file saved at.

I recently installed Restore_Point_Message_Shortcut.zip and would like to replace it with Restore_Point Shortcut.zip. Do I need to uninstall the "Message" version first?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Peter, :)

There's no need to unless you just wanted to.

Thanks Brink, I will go ahead and just do an install of the one without the message.
