How to Add or Remove Extensions in Microsoft Edge in Windows 10

Microsoft Edge is a new web browser that is available across the Windows 10 device family. It is designed for Windows 10 to be faster, safer, and compatible with the modern Web.

Personalize and add new features to Microsoft Edge with extensions. Starting with Windows 10 build 14291, a selection of extensions is now available for Microsoft Edge on the PC.

When fully released to mainstream builds of Windows 10, extensions will be available via the Windows Store. Until that time, you can help us test extensions by downloading and adding them to Microsoft Edge using the steps shown below. You can try out the Mouse Gestures, Microsoft Translator and Reddit Enhancement Suite extensions today with more on the way.

Starting with Windows 10 build 17074, you can now grant individual extensions permission to run in InPrivate from the options menu for the extension. Microsoft is working with extension developers to enable more features when InPrivate.

For more details about extensions for Microsoft Edge, see:

This tutorial will show you how to add or remove extensions in Microsoft Edge for your account in Windows 10.

This tutorial is only for how to add or remove extensions in the old legacy Microsoft Edge.

At the beginning of the video, did she say "Microsoft Edge is the 'all new' browser...", or "only browser"?

Insider Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14316 - Windows 10 Forums

A few weeks ago, we announced the availability of extension support for Microsoft Edge with more on the way. Today, we are excited to share with you some new extensions that you can try out – Pin It Button and OneNote Clipper. In addition, we have updated versions of Reddit Enhancement Suite, Mouse Gestures, and Microsoft Translator.

Please note: There is change in this build that will break existing extensions installed on your PC in Microsoft Edge if they were previously installed using an older build. You can download the new installation files and re-install the existing extensions using the new installers.

Starting with Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14342, instead of extracting and loading extensions from a local folder, all available extensions can now be downloaded directly from the Windows Store. This change means that your currently installed extensions will be removed, and you’ll have to reinstall the ones you want from the Store. Then in future updates, your extensions will be automatically re-downloaded and installed.

    UPDATE:

In Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14352, previously installed extensions for Microsoft Edge may not work for around 15 minutes after your first sign-in. A work around for this is to manually re-install each extension from the Store.
