    I had been unable to disable window snapping on my #2 computer after upgrade to Windows10. Tried everything, trawled the internet. #1 workstation just fine. Early this morning I noticed that for #2 I had HP Display Assistant installed, never used it since buying the monitors and it was never an issue under Win7. Uninstalled it and windows snapping went away. If all the usual windows solutions don't work look for a third party piece of software that may be the problem.

    Any way to mod it? I use three display i Eyefinity and would love to have a way to autoadjust windows to the size of one of the monitors (1/3 of the whole displayed area) not to the half of the are (1 1/2 of the monitors).

    When I look at the .reg files, they don't actually seem to be creating a "DWORD" value for
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
    "WindowArrangementActive"="1"

    Per:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

    WindowArrangementActive DWORD

    0 = Off
    1 = On

    Hello dauser, and welcome to Ten Forums.

    The WindowArrangementActive string value should be there by default.

    If the .reg file was successfully merged, it should change this DWORD value. Of course, you will still need to sign out/in or restart to apply.

    On a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro Version 21H2 Build 19044.1288 (reformat C:, install from ISO and boot to Audit Mode), WindowArrangementActive is REG_SZ, not REG_DWORD.

    Thank you. Typo corrected.

    It was correct in the REG files, but had DWORD instead of REG_SZ in the notes.

    Hello James, and welcome.

    You would want to use the method in the tutorial below instead for that.
