Oh and I just downloaded ImgBurn and created my first mount/bootable ISO with it(after trial and error, but the program has a pseudo bot that helps).

So with Kari's tutorial I made my MCT ESD to a WIM, got what I needed, and then went and made a wim ISO for when I need to use it with DISM:)

    My Saturday is now complete.
If I can do it in a matter on minutes, anyone can

    Humph!
I just had to go through this again: Windows Defender Offline Scan in Windows 10 - Page 4 - | Windows 10 Tutorials

After the 1809 upgrade nothing seemed wrong, until, for grins & giggles, I decided to try an offline scan today.
It booted into the Defender offline loader, but it couldn't seem to finish loading. Twice I had to crash it, by hitting my reset button on my case

Nope I spoke too soon(before running a third time), it still doesn't work.
It's broken on my laptop too.

    Finally it ran(on both PC's)!

It just takes a reeeeeeal long time to load, and when it finally does, the old Defender UI(Win8.1 version) doesn't show up any more.
It's just a command prompt the shows time past, and # of files already scasnned.

Would like to know how to run windows defender offline scan when you can't boot windows & but can boot to the repair environments command prompt?

From within windows settings if you click the full scan bullet before clicking the offline scan it runs the full offline scan.

Odd. It should start the scan until you click on the "Scan" button after selecting (dot) the type of scan you want.

I suppose you could use the Windows 7/8 method below to create a bootable Windows Defender Offline Scan USB flash drive to use at boot.
