I have followed the create recovery disk procedures. I NTFS formatted four new 16gb usb disks, as I am going to create recovery disks for two desktops and two laptops. All four are 64 bit systems. I check the box to back of system files and then click 'next'. It searches for my usb drive, but does not find it. It then prompts me to insert a usb drive again. I insert a different drive and it still doesn't find it. I've tried this with four different usb drives. All are formatted NTFS. What am I missing? Help.
I think you may find that 16GB is way too little to make a recovery drive including system file backup. It will be OK if you uncheck the system file backup box, though, but I recommend you use something that has at least 32GB if you want a full recovery drive. Note: a 32GB USB drive may only actually have 28GB free, and may not work. A 64GB pen-drive will do it, or a cheap USB external HD of similar size.

    Hi All.

I have a problem also trying to create a recovery drive on a PC with Windows 10 32 bit
When the program recoverydrive.exe runs I untick the backup system files.
And click next I get the error.
We can't create a recovery drive on this PC
    Some required files are missing.

On another PC with Windows 10 64 bit.
It worked fine until I created the Previsioning package, and tried to remake the recovery drive and got the same error.

    Regards
    Peter

I created a USB recovery flash drive.

In File Explorer, the list of files does not correspond to the screenshot for step 5, here:

    For example, setup.exe is missing.

    Please advise.

    Thanks.

    Hey mate, :)

A recovery drive is not installation media, so it wouldn't have a "setup.exe" file.

    Ah, yes. Indeed. Quite so!

I wondered if anyone would notice that :)

@Brink, will this revert my system back to Windows 8.1? I am having to redo the whole system. I’m putting Windows 10 on it once I get the drivers and everything situated with it.

    Hello @Jesse Williams, :)

A recovery drive is a USB that you can boot from for advance startup options.

If you check the Back up system files to the recovery drive box when you create the recovery drive, you'll also be able to boot from the recovery drive USB to reset Windows 10.

Thankfully it was my recovery media that I created for Windows 8.1. Hopefully, once I get everything sorted, the issues with Bluetooth will be fixed. I can then upgrade back to 10 and go from there.
