Differences Recovery Drive vs USB created by Media Creation tool.
Whilst using 'Recovery Drive' and Windows 10 with 'errors' in the eventlogs, will the issues causing these errors also be transferred to the Recovery Drive?
Meaning that when recovering from this drive, the same issues, causing event log errors, are then restored as well?

    Hello tfwul,

The better of the two to have would be the Windows 10 installation USB.

Think recovery drive as basic WinRE (advanced startup options). If you check Back up system files to the recovery drive, then you will also be able to refresh and reset Windows. Unless the default image included in Windows is corrupted, your error will not affect the recovery drive to have them back again after a refresh or reset.

Recover Windows 10 from a Recovery Drive

USB created by Media Creation tool is full blown Windows 10 installation media. It includes the same as the recovery drive above, but you can also clean and upgrade install Windows with it.

    Thanks a lot Brink!

    Well noted.
One day... one day... in future Microsoft will offer an option to save the settings of their product to your account, so one can optionally restore them when freshly re-installing Office, Windows etc.

    Anyway, thanks again.

You can't do a clean install with a recovery drive. You need installation media for that instead.

If the option to include System Files works (and it doesn't always), then you should be able to use a Recovery Drive to reinstall Windows to a 'bare metal' machine with a completely blank or new disk. It's perhaps not quite a 'clean' install but it's pretty close.

But compared to using installation media, there aren't many advantages of a Recovery Drive, and the Recovery Drive is a troublesome thing.
