If I create a Windows 10 USB flash drive using option 2 (Rufus) here:
USB Flash Drive - Create to Install Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums
It still gives the same functionality as this recovery drive right?

    Hello Tan, :)

Windows recovery would be included in an installation USB as well.

You just won't have the Back up system files to the recovery drive option like a recovery drive, but this is mostly for OEM factory recovery.

    Hello solpuerto, :)

I'm afraid that your image is broken. Please upload and attach it again.

It appears that you have missing or corrupted system files causing this.

You could run a SFC /SCANNOW command to see if it may be able to repair them.

    Hi Brink

I ran the SFC /SCANNOW command and got the message about not being able to repair some problems, tried again but no change. I then decided to do a REPAIR INSTALL and that allowed me to create a recovery USB but only if I unticked the box. If I left it ticked it failed.

Does this mean I still have a problem?

Many thanks for your help. I must say I find your Tutorials very clear, most helpful and amazing. Great Stuff and I hope you keep up the good work.

You're good to go. Not being able to check the box means that you just won't have that option available with the recovery drive.

Personally, I would recommend to create a Windows 10 USB from a Windows 10 Pro ISO. This way you will also have the option to be able to reinstall Windows 10 if ever needed.

    Hi Brink

    Thanks for response.

I now have a Recovery USB for Win 10 to go with a Win 10 ISO USB and a Win 10 .exe USB together with backup of my Data on an external HDD. I hope that should be enough!!!
