I have this problem with clean boot, (i was not able to find this tutorial when i tried to clean boot my system) in PART ONE step 3 I interchanged number 3 and 2, so instead of hiding the Microsoft services first, I clicked the disable button first and then the hide.

And when i tried to launch the "msconfig" it wont pop-out. How can I fix this?
Hello dansoy, and welcome to Ten Forums.

The easiest way to undo this would be to do a system restore using a restore point dated before you disabled all services by mistake.

Did you try opening msconfig from the Run (Win+R) dialog?

If you are able to open msconfig, then you can do this below to undo it.

    1. Uncheck Hide all Microsoft service.
    2. Click on Enable all.

Hello Brink! Suggestion about the Clean Boot Tutorial

I followed your tutorial about how to perform a clean boot. I'm not trying to be picky, but on my system, there were two or three places where your instructions and/or screenshots didn't match what I saw on my monitor. I made assumptions - but I don't know if I made the correct ones. BTW, this is where the problem with msconfig started. Do you mind taking a look? Thank you in advance.

PS: After performing the clean boot, my optical drive no longer works. Perhaps I didn't set something correctly? Device Manager says it's working properly - but it isn't recognized when I go to use it. I also cannot read what's on a disk. The disk ejects and requests a disk be inserted. I have the drive in the boot sequence path - but the boot skips right past it as if it weren't there.

    Hello @Nisko,

No worries. I want to keep the tutorials as accurate as possible.

Which steps/screenshots were not the same for you?

What build of Windows 10 do you currently have installed?

    I have version 1703, build 15063.483.

As for the tutorial discrepancies, I will have to do that at a later time - but as soon as I can. I recognize that you want to keep everything as accurate as possible and that's why I am letting you know what I read and saw. Your tutorials are great and very helpful.

They are relatively minor - but I'll try to summarize later.
