A clean install would do that as well.

    Reset Windows 10-screenshot-23-.png
    Hey,
I was careless, and I got some viruses, and add-on in my laptop. So I want to delete all the installed programs in :C ; so using fully clean the hard drive (C) is correct?. But if I do that, I wonder if it delete my 3 others disk drive (D, E, F)? I want to keep my files in 3 disk drive. Thanks.

Hello Katie, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

Yes, as long as those other drives are not just other partitions on the same Windows hard drive. If they are, they'll get wiped out as well. It they are separate physical hard drives, then they won't be affected.

Since you got a virus, be sure to scan the other drives with a good AV program as well.

I've tried to scan with both iobit ultimate and malware fighter, but I think the viruses still hiding.
I finally deleted "/C:/ProgramData/Nimzaps/snp.sc." in C disk by stop their service and task. But I can't remove "http://search.sidecubes.com/?st=sc&q=" homepage though.

The Windows 10 is installed in C disk, not related with three other disks. So they are not being wipe out, only C, right?

And by the way, if I choose restore factory setting, does it go back to windows 8?

A factory restore would take you back to what was originally installed on the OEM PC. In your case, Windows 8.

Correct, only the C disk would be affected.

If you still show signs of a virus after you reset, then it would be best to create a new thread in the AntiVirus, Firewalls and System Security forum area to see if they can help with Virus first. :)

I started a reset, looked to be going as planned. I walked away for 15 minutes or so, screen is blank, but hd is active....any thoughts?

Hello Aekresse, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

I'd let it sit until finished as long as you have HDD activity.
