Also, another thing here. The reset option automatically re-installs a copy of Windows 10, where is that copy installed if the reset deletes all the partitions in the Fully Clean Option of the reset? I would like to really would like to install the 1803 version.

Windows 10 includes a built-in image it uses to reset to the current version and build.

Thank you very much!!! This is awesome!

Any info on possibly why I got stuck at 42%. What would cause that and is there a fix?

    Thank you!

Sometimes, you may need to just let it sit for a long time to see if it may continue.

If you had corruption or a ton of issues, it could take longer than usual to finish.

Thank you! I hope the rest of the process will be smoother! In actuality, I am trying the diskpart "clean all" command to do the wipe to see how that works. I have a few hours more to go I believe.

Also, once I get Windows up and running etc. I am going to attempt Kari's tutorial on Factoryrecovery - Create a Custom Recovery Partition along with what you recommended. This will save me ton of time in the future, if I can get it to work, because I am averaging about 2-3 times a year where I wipe and clean install Windows.

I noticed when checking out the Reset PC option it recognises more than one drive and asks do I want to delete everything only on the drive where Windows is installed drive or from all drives. If I select the link underneath it tells me what drives will be affected....Drive D: is shown which surprised me. I thought Reset PC only affected the Windows drive?
I have an 128 GB SSD drive with Windows 10 installed on it drive C:/
My other drive is a secondary internal 1 terabyte HDD with data and games and programmes on it. This is drive D:/

For my purposes I will be removing all files (not keeping personal folders) and not fully cleaning the drive just removing my files as Im not selling the PC or anything like that. I want the cleanest possible installation that Reset PC can perform without using the Media Creation Tool method. Because I want the cleanest possible installation I also want to wipe clean the 1 terabyte internal HDD D:/ drive. What is the best way to achieve this?
I have Games and other software installed on the D:/ drive so Im guessing that these wont work correctly after Reset PC has been done because they will have written registry entries on the C:/ drive so Reset PC will break those links

    Hello @sportsfan148,

Is your drive D on another partition on the same Windows disk?

If so, that would be normal since drive D is not a separate hard disk. You should be able to select a "Only the drive where Windows is installed" option at step 6 to not affect your drive D.

Hi Shawn, No... drive D: is a separate internal 1 terabyte HDD with data, games and programmes on it.
Windows 10 is on a separate128GB SSD drive drive C:
That's one of the reasons for my confusion. It seems to suggest that if I were to select All Drives that my D:/ Data drive can be cleaned at the same time as my C: (SSD drive) with Windows system on it which would be great if it an do that. It goes against what Ive read though because I thought it could only clean drives on the Windows partition.
PS Ive just checked it again to make 100% certain. It says Your PC has more than one drive. Do you want to Remove All Files from all drives? Only the drive where Windows is installed or All Drives are the two options. Then when I click on show me a list of the drives that will be affected drive D: is the only drive listed
