Hello Shawn my TRIM check in my newest laptop is showing up as in the pic so is my SSD in TRIM mode??
    Hello John,

A newer SSD will most likely support TRIM.

Go ahead and post a screenshot of your results to be certain.

Hello Shawn sorry for the very late reply this is what my check is showing but as per previuos post it seems to make no sense saying that it is disabled?

    Hello John,

Actually, that indicates TRIM is enabled.

Agreed. They need to make it much clearer.

Yes I agree Shawn and I have been following stuff about Windows 11 and they seem to have made changes that like this TRIM setting more difficult to use ie the way that you now have to search around for such things such as Task Manager and where the taskbar can be placed.

    Hello @Brink ,

I came across this thread while looking for something else. I have a HDD and out of interest ran the following . . .

    Code:

    C:\Windows\system32>fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify

    NTFS DisableDeleteNotify = 0 (Disabled)
    ReFS DisableDeleteNotify = 0 (Disabled)

Is it worth changing them to the following [ Disabled ] please? . . .

    Code:

fsutil behavior set DisableDeleteNotify NTFS 1
fsutil behavior set DisableDeleteNotify ReFS 1

    Thanks.

You have a hard drive. Trim isn't applicable to hard drives.

    I know that.

Windows has it Enabled as the Default after installation. I am asking if running the TWO commands I stated above will have a detrimental affect on the HDD. I suspect NOT will be the answer.

    Hello Paul,

It will not hurt to leave it set as default.
