Hm weird, I took the WindowsApps folder over and tried dropping some .dlls in there because something was broken and it did not allow me so.

Hello Oli, and welcome to Ten Forums.

The "WindowsApps" folder is a protected system folder.

Since you have taken ownership of the "WindowsApps" folder, you should be able to now open it and allow access when prompted.

Afterwards, you should be able to drop the .dll files in the folder.

Could be. What do the owner and permissions show for this subfolder?

Can you copy the files from your desktop to this folder?

Windows will not allow to directly copy into a system folder from an external or unknown source.

I just tested on my system for that same folder, and it will not let me copy a file in it as well, even with my account as owner with full permissions set.

It appears that is is a protected OS folder that Windows will not allow to be modified no matter what.
