Im having a problem using the script. When I try to run "lock drive" it looks for the script file lock-vbe.vbs on a disconnected usb drive. Something must have changed in the registry for the location and I tried using remove lock drive then adding it again but I get the same problem

    Helllo,

Just to verify, did you move the downloaded lock-bde.vbs file into the C:\Windows\System32 folder?

Yes I followed the steps exactly as written and when redoing it i chose to overwrite the original from a fresh download that was NOT on the USB drive and I still get the error. I tried searching the registry for tweaks but it doesnt show up

Odd the error message shows it's looking for the VBS on your "E" drive.

Double check to make sure the VBS is unblocked.

What value do you show for the registry key below?

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell\lock-bde\command

I have "wscript.exe lock-bde.vbs %1" im rebooting now. After a reboot it looks like it works again, not sure what troubleshooting step fixed it but it is fixed. Thank you!!!!

    Hello mate,

I'll be happy to look into it to see what I can come up with when able. A bit under the weather and foggy headed right now.
    Hi, any update/plans for 2022?

I haven't seen anything to directly add a context menu item in the "Show more options" menu. Only for when you click on "Show more options".

Ok, this is the official blog about the change: Extending the Context Menu and Share Dialog in Windows 11 - Windows Developer Blog

Basically, you need to create a signed app (thus certificate is required but you already have it) that adds such a menu.

One of the open-source app that is already adding its own menu is NanaZip: GitHub - M2Team/NanaZip: The 7-Zip derivative intended for the modern Windows experience.

It is published to Windows Store but if you don't want to deal with this extra work then you have to use the "Sparse Packages" feature: AppModelSamples/Samples/SparsePackages at master . microsoft/AppModelSamples . GitHub for your app, so it can act as a usual portable exe file, similar to reg/bat tweak.

Thank you. I'll have to do some digging and playing to see how that may translate using a REG or BAT file instead of an app.
