Actually one more if I may....?
I now want to encrypt a fixed data drive and I think I will be offered the change to have to mount at boot if I use the same PIN as that used for the O/S drive.
However I wish to do the same with the first partition on the second data drive whilst requiring the 2nd partition to be mounted manually. I believe that too is possible as I read somewhere that Bitlocker encrypts partitions not drives (as in some partitions on a system drive are not encrypted for it all to work properly). Is what I would like to achieve possible by just using a different password for the 2nd partition on the 2nd data drive?
UPDATED
I think that things have changed since I did this on my old machine and the password does not need to be the same as that used for the O/S as this is not flagged in the process. I also just realised that for the 2nd partition on the 2nd drive I just leave the box unticked for mounting at startup!
Thanks again.
