    Yes, link for standard version is broken. I managed to find it elsewhere, but unfortunately couldn't unlock the USB. I had to replace it to the customer and send it to the Provider for a repair or replacement. Thank you for your help.

    I suspect some malware messing with the device flags (USB device type, etc). Isn't there any utility to reset the device flags back to normal? That could fix a lot of broken USB devices.

    Possibly running the "clean" or "clean all" command on the USB if able.

    I would like to report that the third option does not seem to work for me. The first fix found on this site did, though: The Disk Is Write-Protected error for Removable Disks
