    Thank you,
I found it there is a switch in General Settings, Show sites I frequently visit in "Top Sites"

Hmm, turning that off doesn't remove "Top sites" in the Microsoft Edge jump list for me.

It only removes my frequent sites from "Top sites", and not the default ones. Turn off Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar clears the jump list though.

I turned it off and it had no effect, maybe another one of those settings that takes a while to sync in?

Thank you for sorting that, another nice tutorial!

I also noticed that if you right click and remove a recent item on the Edge jump list, it comes right back later without even visiting the site. I only mention it because turning off jump lists clears some that I do not want to rebuild.

It does seem to still be a bit flaky.

Method One has stopped working for me since I got the Windows 10 Fall Update. It used to work fine.

Hello @Justmeeee, and welcome to Ten Forums.

Please explain more about it stopped working for you. For example, is the setting grayed out or has no effect?

Does any of the other options in the tutorial work for you?

The option "show recently opened items in Jump List on Start or the taskbar" is still there and active. However, it used to prevent items from appearing in my "recent items" and history folder. They are now appearing.

The option "show recently opened items in Jump List on Start or the taskbar" just does one thing if I slid from on to off then back to on: It clears my "recent items" and history. Then it goes back to storing my file history. Before it used to prevent the items from appearing in the first place.

I did not try any other options.

I just tested on my build 18262, and toggling that setting off and on still clears the history for me.

If you like, you could also use either option 1 or 3 in the tutorial below to see if they may still clear your recent history.
