If you would like to preserve colored window borders but have the Start Menu, Taskbar, Clock, etc. black, here's a simple Registry tweak to accomplish that.
First you must turn on "Show color on Start, taskbar, action center, and title bar" in Settings►Personalization►Colors;
then navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\Personalize in the Windows Registry, and, in the right pane, change the value of
ColorPrevalence to 0.
Restart Explorer. That's it.
Why is there two registry keys for color and only one seems to work and this is after a Windows Professional reset and this PC has always had Windows 10 on it?
Works: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors
Doesn't work: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\Colors
