Since you have already been linked to my thread I wont comment on it other than to reiterate that I already found a possible solution that may have worked (time will tell).

But since you asked & despite it possibly being resolved I just now reran the elevated command & you will see the results in the following SS. Note I ran it twice.
The first time I ran it (just now) was with the app uninstalled from my pc & it returned an error saying it does not exist.
The second time I ran it just after I reinstalled the app it seems to have worked (which is not much of a surprise since I already said I found another solution that seems to have fixed the issue).

With that being said it appears that the code was not misspelled or outdated, it just appeared that way earlier because of microsoft's ridiculous ambiguous & cryptic error codes. It didnt help much seeing that the article was written in 2014 & only updated last nearly a year ago.

    Hello @SDMF74,

That error message indicates that you no longer have the Sticky Notes package install on your computer to reinstall the app from.

You might see if reinstalling the Microsoft Sticky Notes app using Option 3 may help. If the app shows as installed, then uninstall and try installing using Option 3.

Lol, Im fully aware what that one means, I was referring to the initial error message that stated that your command prompt code was misspelled or incorrect. I only ran it both ways this time to show that I had tried it both ways & covered all bases.

Im confused though why should I continue with troubleshooting steps? Doesnt the screenshot show that the reinstall & re-register was successful?

It seems to be working for now, although in the past when I reset it did also only to fail to open a week or so later. I shall test & monitor it for now and report back if it happens again. Im hoping that all the steps I have taken to resolve the issue this time have worked. Thanks for your help

If an app is not working right , I just go into settings/apps click on the app click on advanced and reset it. You do not lose anything.

I can only think that possibly the command may not have been copied correctly the first time??

I tested it on my system, and it ran without issue like the second time you ran it.

Correct. No need to do anything else if Sticky Notes is now properly working for you again.

Just thought I would update the situation. I have had sticky notes stop working again at least 3 times since I last posted here

    Hi everyone,
I wanted to move the default installation folder for all the programs that i am going to install in my computer.
    I did that with a junction (that's the only way that I found, please if you know a better way let me know), but now, when I am trying to use windows apps, like the windows store it just close instantly. I found that this code might help Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
But I really think that "$($_.InstallLocation)" is not the right folder. How can I do?

    For Store apps:
Move Apps to another Drive in Windows 10
Change Save Location for New Apps in Windows 10

but for downloaded and installed 'desktop' programs, there is limited gain in trying to install those on another drive as even if you do so, they will use space on C:

Whatever you do needs to be compatible with applying feature updates.

Hello @MrTKusa, and welcome to Ten Forums.

The first error message indicates the app is in use, and can't complete the command.

What app issues are you having?
