Odd. As a test if you like, are the shortcuts there in a new account when created and signed in?

Option Three added to the tutorial to help make it easier to install Windows apps from Microsoft Store. :)

I tried Option 2 as Edge now nearly opens, then closes within a few seconds, showing only a white page. I have sufficient time to type a web address in, but it closes. This is what I see in PowerShell running as administrator:-

    PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage *MicrosoftEdge*).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}"
= : The term '=' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the
spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.

    + & { = (Get-AppxPackage *MicrosoftEdge*).InstallLocation + '\AppxManif ...
    + ~
    + CategoryInfo : ObjectNotFound: (=:String) [], CommandNotFoundException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : CommandNotFoundException

cmdlet Add-AppxPackage at command pipeline position 1
Supply values for the following parameters:
    Path:

    Has anyone any ideas?

    DISM++

Thanks uturn 0427 for the suggestion. After reading about this tool and seeing that if you don't know what you are doing you may cause some damage I think that I will wait a little before trying it in case someone else comes up with another suggestion.

do yoursef a favor and run dism++, click on the top menu bar on “restore” and then pick “scan health” from the dropdown... this wont make any changes to your computer but will check to see if there are any system issues, if there are you can use the “restore heath” option in the same dropdown to correct any issues found with the scan... the disclaimer is to protect them legally from idiots clicking around randomly. its a solid tool...

    Hello vivski, :)

The command needed to be run in a command prompt instead of PowerShell.

If that doesn't help, then you could try this below instead.

Thanks Brink, I tried a command prompt (admin) and the command ran, but did not solve the problem. I also tried your second suggestion to reinstall and re-register Edge, which completed very quickly but also made no difference. I will try uturn0427s suggestion tomorrow evening, when I have more time.

    It sure is being stubborn.

If you haven't already, you might also see if resetting Microsoft Edge using the method below may help.

Thanks Brink, I have just tried that and used both Repair and then Reset. Both times the tick appeared suggesting success, but it has not solved the problem.
