Shawn, I'm having a problem with option one, step 2......

Unblocked download as usual, I am an administrator, etc. Did the normal MERGE of .reg to registry.

Here's what I get:
The hex string in the .reg file is missing in registry. I get OPEN, not MOUNT in Explorer. I can mount it thru file explorer, but no MOUNT cmd.

It looks like you have 7-Zip set as the default program for ISO files, and would be why you no longer have Mount.

You can download and merge the .reg file for the listed iso option in the tutorial below to restore the default associations of ISO files to fix this.

I have spent some time going through some of my post installation customisation files and came across something that I would like your advice about please.

Question 1

I have Mount added to the Context Menu.
When I looked at my Remove REG file, I see that I have . . .

I did this a couple of years ago now and I can't remember why I created it like that!
Have you got any ideas please?

Do you think it would be a good idea to have a Mount flyout that included BOTH the Windows.ISO File and the Windows.VHD File entries?

Q1) The method you used would just disable it, while the method I used removes it completely. Either way effectively removes the Mount context menu though. I just like to remove the lot so anything extra added gets removed along with it to be thorough.

Q2) I'm not sure it would be needed since both ISO and VHD files already have a Mount context menu by default.

Ah, OK. I think I will amend my REG file to yours so it gets completely removed.

May be irrelevant, but.... certain apps, 7-Zip as a prime example, will hijack the ISO "mount" command and turn it into "Open with 7z". That comes up often when an OP says "There is no Mount command". We ask, "Do you have 7-Zip or anything like it installed?". Invariably, they do. At that point, it's easier to just tell them to right-click and open with Explorer.
